Summary

Let me introduce St Bees Island in the South Whitsundays about 50 Km north east of Mackay, Qld.

This private and secluded tropical island has a total area of 1,100 Ha, of which a portion is a private sanctuary of 4.2Ha and is leased to the current owners, which in essence means you have total access to the entire island. There are two houses on the 4.2 Hectares, one being the owners and the other the guest house with  Island bar and community kitchen.

There are very few islands in Queensland that would have a more romantic and colorful history than St. Bees Island and with the immediate waters that lap it’s sandy and coral strewn coast with white beaches and blue water that look over coral reefs and large aquatic floral bommies,

Whales frequent St Bees Island during June to October each year and use the waters as their playground on the way up north and introducing their young on the way back down south, many can be seen close to “Eagle Rock” the southern point of Homestead Bay which makes great viewing from the new covered beer garden.

A reasonably well-kept secret on St. Bees Island is that the island has the most healthy, prolific population of koalas in Queensland, and incidentally the koalas are familiar with human activity and are generally not scared of people.

There are no known dangerous or poisonous animals on St Bees island.

Currently the accommodation area in the northern part of the 4.2ha lease includes two houses and a large shed that has a newly incorporated community kitchen and the “Sand Bar” and an undercover beer garden, what an ideal area to sit with a cool drink enjoy the Million dollar views, and at the end of the day the sunsets are sensational whilst looking out over the pristine bay.

For those who enjoy snorkeling and diving, there is the wreck of the “CREMER” off the northeast shore with plenty of marine life as well as crabs and lobsters.

There are so many beaches and bays on this tropical island with all types of coral and marine life.

The owners have asked me to place their island on to the market as there has been a serious health issue with one of the family, and therefore they have advised me that the asking price has be reduced to $1.95M for a quick sale, this means that the island will be walk in walk out proposition including all the new furnishings and assets on the island.
